Yamaha's NY Atelier Hosts Virtuoso Series Of Jazz and Classical Music Events

Three Event-Filled Days Feature Artist Clinics, Instrument Testing and Concerts by Legends of Jazz and Classical Music

BUENA PARK, Calif. — Yamaha's New York Atelier will host the Virtuoso Series of free student clinics and concerts featuring Yamaha artists and wind instruments. The three event-filled days will include clinics by top classical and jazz artists, tours of the Atelier and the chance to play the entire line of popular Yamaha wind instruments. The days all finish with free performances featuring Yamaha artists.

The Virtuoso Series will commence with the Day of Jazz on September 27, 2008. The event will feature jazz trombone artist Steve Turre, trumpet legend Bobby Shew and saxophonist Keith Loftis. The Day of Trumpets will take place on October 4, 2008 and will feature Randy Brecker, Tage Larsen and Carl Fischer. The Virtuoso Series will culminate with the Day on Flutes on October 26, 2008. Artists scheduled to appear include Jeffrey Khaner, Brad Garner, Jim Walker, Mimi Stillman and the Shigenori Kudo.

Open instrument testing will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 1 p.m. and artist clinics will begin at 1:00 p.m. Artist performances will start at 3:00 p.m. All events are free and open to the public and will be held at Yamaha's Band & Orchestral Atelier at Yamaha Artist Services in New York City located on 689 Fifth Avenue (at 54th Street.)
