Yamaha's Virtuoso Series of Events A Hit at New York Atelier

Three Event-Filled Days Featured Artist Clinics, Instrument Testing and Concerts by the Legends of Jazz and Classical Music

NEW YORK CITY — Yamaha's New York Atelier recently hosted the Virtuoso Series of free student clinics and concerts featuring Yamaha artists and wind instruments. The three well-attended, event-filled days included clinics by top artists and tours of the popular facility. Additionally, visitors were given the opportunity to play the entire line of popular Yamaha wind instruments.

The Virtuoso Series began with the Day of Jazz on September 27, 2008. The event featured jazz trombone artist Steve Turre, trumpet legend Bobby Shew and saxophonist Keith Loftis. The Day of Trumpets took place on October 4, 2008 and featured Randy Brecker, Tage Larsen and Carl Fischer. The Virtuoso Series culminated with the Day of Flutes on October 26, 2008. Artists participating in the Day of Flutes included Jeffrey Khaner, Brad Garner, Jim Walker, Mimi Stillman and the Shigenori Kudo.

Hundreds of local musicians, educators, students and music enthusiasts came out to meet the artists and participate in the clinics and discussions. All Virtuoso Series clinics, performances and interviews were recorded in HD Video and will be posted to Yamaha's multimedia website The Hub (www.yamaha.com/thehub.)
