On-line Contest Showcases Talent and Passion of Yamaha Users; Promotion Coincides with Disneyland® Resort's Upcoming 2009 'Celebration'

BUENA PARK, Calif. — Yamaha Corporation of America has launched an exclusive contest and web site seeking the best performance of Disney's "it's a small world" theme song utilizing Yamaha products. Between October 22 and December 31, 2008, contestants can enter on-line to win the grand prize of a two-night stay at the Disneyland® Resort and a $750 credit towards any Yamaha instrument or product. A second prize winner will also receive a monetary credit towards any Yamaha music product. Both winning entries will be showcased on the Yamaha multimedia website, The Hub (www.yamahahub.com.) To enter, users can upload their video or audio performance to the contest website, www.yamaha.com/celebrate.

"Yamaha instruments are involved in hundreds of musical celebrations throughout the year," said Kurt Witt, Marketing Manager, Wind Instruments, Band & Orchestral Division, Yamaha Corporation of America. "This special contest is a great way to celebrate a classic Disney song with the personal style and ideas of the contestants."

The grand prize winner will be chosen by a panel of Yamaha and Disney officials; the second prize winner will be chosen by popular votes on The Hub website. Both winners of the Celebrate Your Music contest will be announced at the 2009 NAMM Show in Anaheim, California.

Entrants are encouraged to electronically submit a video or audio recording of Disney's "it's a small world" theme ride song composed by Robert and Richard Sherman. The classic song celebrates global peace and the ride features a multitude of audio-animatronic™ figures in the style of children of the world singing the lyrics.

At the website (www.yamaha.com/celebrate) contest entrants will have access to an array of downloadable materials including sheet music, exclusive arrangements, DJ background tracks and other supplies to enhance their performance.

Yamaha is the official supplier of musical instruments to the Disneyland® Resort, and the company's Band & Orchestral Division has spearheaded a number of Web initiatives, including production of several podcast episodes that have become major web hits. In addition to this partnership, Yamaha is also proud to be the instrument provider for the prestigious Disney All-American College Band. Comprised of twenty one of the country's finest university-level music students, each musician earned his or her position after an extensive audition process. On top of rigorous daily rehearsal and performance schedules, band members are offered educational seminars in the music industry, learning valuable skills such as Web site and resume building to help them realize their career aspirations.

The relationship between the Walt Disney Company, the largest employer of professional musicians in the world, and Yamaha, the world's largest manufacturer of musical instruments, has thrived and grown in many ways over the past several years. Vacationers, visitors and guests at events held at the Disneyland® Resort have long experienced a rich Yamaha musical experience whether attending weddings, corporate gatherings, concerts or the countless musical events that are integral to the Disney offerings.
