New Downloadable Sample Libraries, Software and OS Updates and Redesigned Motifator Support Site Make the Best-in-Class Motif XS Music Production Workstation Even Better

BUENA PARK, Calif. — When music production and performance pros spend thousands of dollars on an instrument like the Motif XS, they want to know that their investment is going to last. With Yamaha's new XSpand Your World promotion and the revamp of the 3.0 Web site, Yamaha demonstrates its commitment to provide professional-quality support that enhances the instrument's ability to provide quality music production and creation capabilities for years to come.

XSpand Your World
The XSpand Your World promotion is a three month long campaign of free Internet downloads starting in January, 2009. One of the key components is almost 1 gigabit of sample voice libraries from some of the top sound designers in the business including DCP Productions, Digital Sound Factory, Sonic Reality and Keyfax NewMedia. The free banks which total almost 1 GB of data will include pianos, strings, guitars, ethnic instruments, choirs and loops. Other new sample and voice libraries will also be available for purchase on at the same time.

Yamaha has rolled out new Windows XP, Vista 64 and Mac OSX compatible software, including a new VST3 editor for the Motif XS. This release will make the Motif XS (and the Motif XS Rack) the first VST 3 compatible hardware in the market.

Finally in early spring, Yamaha will offer a new Motif XS OS upgrade that enhances user sampling capability and also allows the Motif XS to record and play stereo audio directly from USB memory devices among other features.

"Not only is the Motif XS the top selling sampling music workstation and the instrument of choice for many top sound designers, it is also the most expandable, with the most complete sound library support of any workstation keyboard on the market," said Athan Billias, Director of Marketing, Pro Audio & Combo Division. "The XS continues to be the music workstation market leader because of its sound quality and variety, computer integration and interactive tools for music creation."

To handle all of these downloads and deliver the right sounds and software to customers, the completely revamped 3.0 site uses the latest Internet technology to tailor the site for each visitor, providing relevant information regarding the type of instrument an individual owns along with his or her individual preferences in music and style of production. The site delivers new updates, events, sounds and support, while still providing social networking features like member interaction, music sharing and artist profiles.
