ANAHEIM (January 23, 2014) — Yamaha today announced at the 2014 NAMM Show that its GB1K 5-foot Classic Collection grand piano, one of its most popular and affordable models in that category, would now be available in a polished white finish for the first time.
This attractive alternative joins the current finishes—polished ebony, polished American walnut, polished mahogany, French Provincial cherry and Georgian mahogany—to give consumers six color options to match their personal taste and home décor requirements.
The GB1K designer compact grand piano combines the latest cutting-edge technology and innovation with the timeless skills of expert artisans to achieve an unsurpassed standard of affordable excellence. Its expressive range and consistently reliable performance over time make it one of the most highly recommended models by piano technicians and a leading choice of pianists at all levels.
"The GB1K is one of the most popular grand pianos on the market today, with great appeal to both decorators and design conscious buyers," said Ed Bezursik, marketing manager, Acoustic Pianos, Yamaha Corporation of America. "Introducing a Polished White finish to this well known line expands the palette for a proven winner."
Among the impressive build quality features of the GB1K are advanced scale design, solid spruce soundboard and ribs, solid maple bridge and caps, solid copper wound bass strings and aluminum alloy action rails. In addition, the model offers Yamaha's balanced action, solid spruce keys with hardwood buttons, premium Yamaha designed hammers with T-fasteners, a reinforced keyframe pin with an adjustable guide and a hardwood reinforced keyframe.
