11 Year-Old Pianist Performs Highly Successful Concert at The Breakers |
Alice Burla, Yamaha's youngest piano endorsee, made her debut appearance at the world-renowned Newport Music Festival. The 11 year-old performed before a capacity audience at The Breakers mansion. Her rendition of two Shostokovich preludes, the complete Goldberg Variations by Bach, along with Rachmaninoff's Kreisler and Polka, elicited a standing ovation and raucous cheers. Numerous well-wishers dropped by the post-concert reception. When asked for her take on her debut, Alice replied that it was "Very hot! But luckily that breeze came in!"
