Fully Collapsible SVC-210SK Offers Powerful Sound

BUENA PARK, Calif. — Yamaha Corporation of America, Band & Orchestral Division, will introduce the SVC-210SK Studio Acoustic-body Cello™ at Winter NAMM 2007.

Perfect for stage performance or studio recording, as well as Silent Practice™, this instrument offers a realistic acoustic-like tone and powerful sound, produced via the newly designed resonating chamber and three onboard reverb presets.

Lightweight and versatile, the SVC-210SK is convenient for travel. With its fully collapsible design in both the upper and lower bouts, the cello is ideal for the gigging musician and comes equipped with headphones, a 9V battery and a protective gig bag.

Additionally, the cello can be attached to an MP3 or CD player, enabling musicians to play along with their favorite songs or any other type of pre-recorded accompaniment. The instrument can be used in conjunction with Yamaha's Magicstomp effects processor as well as the STAGEPAS 300 portable PA system.

"At Yamaha, we recognize the challenges musicians face on the road," states Ken Dattmore, Yamaha Strings Marketing Manager. "Our new SVC-210SK's collapsible design reflects our sensitivity towards simplifying instrument transport and our commitment to pushing the boundaries of music technology."

The SVC-210SK will be available January 2007.
