Technology
HDMI®

HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) is the first and only industry-supported, uncompressed, all-digital audio/video interface. With the ability to deliver crystal-clear, all-digital audio and video via a single cable, HDMI dramatically simplifies cabling and helps provide consumers with the highest-quality home theater experience. HDMI can provide an interface between most audio/video sources, such as a set-top box, Blu-ray Disc™ player, DVD player or AV receiver and a video monitor, such as a high-definition television (HDTV), over a single cable.
Depending on the model of product, HDMI can support standard, enhanced or high-definition video, plus multi-channel digital audio on a single cable. It can support all currently-available compressed audio formats (such as Dolby® Digital and DTS) and most newer HDMI devices can support lossless digital audio formats like Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio™.
(View the specifications of each product for details on HDMI compatibility.)
DVD-AUDIO

DVD-Audio is an extension of the highly popular DVD format, distinguished by its capability to deliver high quality multi-channel audio capability previously unavailable in traditional packaged audio media.
CD / DVD Direct Amplification Circuit

Engaged by a front panel switch, it matches CD / DVD signal levels so each stage produces less noise, resulting in improved S/N ratio and maintenance of the amps total gain balance.

VRS Technology

Anchor Bay Technologies designs and manufactures advanced digital semiconductor and system-level solutions for next-generation digital television and high-definition digital video products. The company's proprietary Video Reference Series™ (VRS™) technologies allow Anchor Bay to offer a wide range of advanced video processing solutions that greatly improve image quality on large-screen HDTV home theater systems and other video displays.
VRS (Video Reference Series Technologies) is a trademark of Anchor Bay Technology. Inc.
Dolby® Digital

The most popular 5.1 channel home theater sound system. An improvement over Dolby® Pro Logic® in that it offers: 1) Full frequency response in all channels (3 Hz — 20 kHz), 2) discrete surround channels, and 3) a separate track for bass, only, called the Low-Frequency Effects channel.
DivX®

DivX is the video compression codec developed by DivX Networks and based on the MPEG-4 compression format. Its balance of high video quality and low bit rate has made it very popular and quickly established it as the best home video format thus far. The ability to play it on newer DVD models continues to add to its popularity as DivX Networks advances its support to many new household products. This compression technology has the potential for expanding the ways we view video media in much the way MP3 has given us many new ways to listen to music.
