STAGE CUSTOM STD

One ply of Birch for the outer layer, and 8-plys of Philippine Mahogany for the inner layers are carefully selected, combined, and sealed together using our exclusive Air Seal System. This system ensures that each and every shell is of uniform thickness and perfectly round. Crucial factors in achieving superior tone quality and durability. Factors responsible for the sound quality and durability that have made our higher end drums respected by drummers worldwide.

Long found on our high-end drum kits like the Maple Custom, our original YESS (Yamaha Enhanced Sustain System) mounting system is now standard equipment on the Stage Custom drums. This rod clamp system allows attachment of the drum to the tom holder without the need of a hole in the drum shell for the rod to pass through. The YESS clamp is attached to the shell at the nodal point with two bolts so as to allow the shell to vibrate freely without degrading the shell's dynamic range and sustain. The nodal point is the location on a shell with the least amount of vibration allowing for the mount to have minimal affect to the resonance of the shell.

This round ball clamp has long been a fundamental part of Yamaha System Drums. Made of super-hard resin, the ball is held firmly in place with a steel plate and large wing bolt. While providing ease of operation, this system also delivers total freedom in setting and superior stability. The Stage Custom Standard also utilizes the same triple tom holder as found on our high-end drums. The triple tom holder accommodates two toms as well as a cymbal holder to provide a wide variety of set up possibilities. Just as in the utilization of our YESS system, the addition of these two features deliver added quality and value to the Stage Custom Standard.

The Stage Custom Standard is equipped with a standard size 14" x 5.5", 1.0mm steel snare drum. Delivering a sharp response and solid tone, the snare drum's shell incorporates a special reinforcing channel around its center for added strength.

Manufactured in Yamaha's own motorcycle factory, the newly designed hardware supplied with the Stage Custom series is made to the same specifications as our professional quality hardware. Light in weight, this high-quality, durable hardware stands up to rigorous play. Each part is extremely reliable and provides excellent operation.

The separate type lugs utilized on the Stage Custom Standard are attached to the shell by bolts at two points. The lugs incorporate springless lug bolts that keep the tension rod from loosening during performance.
