Jumbo acoustics were first developed in the 1930s for Country & Western musicians, to provide a big sound that would cut through better. Yamaha's CJ12 does just that job, with a robust, tonally well balanced delivery combining a clearly defined high end and deep, solid lows. The guitar's finely crafted cosmetics reflect popular jumbo styling, not least the moustachio'd bridge, a large, sculpted tortie pickguard, and a bound neck with triangular-block inlays. The body's white-edged multi-ply binding contrasts vividly against the lustrous Violin Sunburst finish. A guitar that looks as good as it sounds.
