Yamaha's AWM (Advances Wave Memory) tone generation brings more realism than ever before. With 60 incredibly lifelike instrument voices to choose from, you have an entire orchestra at your fingertips. Starting with digital recordings of the actual instrument, these digital samples are then filtered according to your touch on the keyboard: not only does volume change as you play harder or softer, the actual tone changes, too.

The 76-key AE (Action Effect) keyboard gives you a truly authentic piano feel and touch. With Yamaha's 100-year heritage as a builder of fine acoustic pianos, the AE keyboard is modeled on the same principles as a grand piano's keyboard.

There are 24 built-in rhythm styles to choose from - from pop to jazz, big band to latin, nearly all major musical styles are just a button push away. Each style has a second variation for more variety, and you even have a selection of intros, endings and fill-ins to avoid the mechanical feel so common with drum machines.

The most sophisticated auto accompaniment at the touch of a button. Single Finger mode gives you a full bass and rhythm accompaniment, even when you play as little as the root tone of a chord. Seventh, minor, and minor seventh chords are also supported. In Fingered Mode, you play the full chord yourself and enjoy a complete accompaniment.

Pick an accompaniment style and play chords and a melody, and Solo Styleplay does all the rest for you automatically selecting voices and accompaniments, and harmonizing your melody in the style you chose.

Play bass with your left hand and piano with your right... or any other combination of two voices you like. The keyboard split point is freely assignable.

Create new instrument combinations with the dual voice mode. This lets you stack up two voices, one on top of the other, and play them both back together.

Think of the performance memory as a built-in, multi-track tape recorder. You can build up performances one track at a time, for playback all together.
