Original Performances
The Disklavier GranTouch features Disklavier's most celebrated advantage: original performances by famous musicians (like George Gershwin, Chick Corea and David Benoit) come to life in your living room – right down to the moving keys!
Real Grand Piano Keyboard
Incorporating the peerless Yamaha grand piano keyboard and action mechanism, the DGT2IIXG offers a solid, natural touch and unsurpassed expressive control-far superior to that of most digital pianos. Optical key position and hammer speed sensors work together to instantly convert keystrokes into digital signals, capturing the subtlest nuances of musical expression with impeccable precision. Pedal sensors complete the system, ensuring that every action of the pianist is faithfully reproduced.
Superb Concert Grand Sound
The highest level of piano sound reproduction. Tones are stereo sampled throughout their full range of dynamics and tonal modulation from the CFIIIS concert grand, using 30 megabytes of memory for this piano sound alone – over ten times more powerful than a standard digital piano. Even recreating harmonic resonance on other strings that results from incremental use of the sustain pedal. Controllable reverb effects simulate acoustics of various playing environments.
Sound Delivery
A powerful 60W per channel, three-way, six-speaker internal audio system delivers the DGT2IIXG sound in all its lifelike richness and depth.
Keyboard Recording and Playback Pioneered in the Yamaha Disklavier
This technology adds a vast range of capabilities to the DGT2IIXG's repertoire. Record and play back your own performance directly on the instrument; Listen to the world's greatest musical artists perform 'live' in your home, complete with lifelike key movement. Play one hand while the piano plays the other or cancel the key movement on pre recorded songs to play your own duets. Change the tempo of recorded performances or transpose into other keys to play or sing along.
Wireless Remote Control
Control the keyboard recording and playback functions via the remote unit from the comfort of your chair.
With the DGT2IIXG, You're Not Limited to Just the Sounds of a Grand Piano
With state-of-the-art Yamaha XG tone generation providing nearly 700 instrumental and speciality voices, plus sophisticated digital effects. Select and play these voices individually, or combine them with the piano for interesting layered sounds. The internal tone module works in conjunction with external MIDI resources, supporting combo and fully orchestrated concerts available on Yamaha PianoSoft Plus™ disks.
Direct Computer Interface
A simple, single-cable connection lets you link your DGT2IIXG with the power of your personal computer. This means you can store musical data on your computer's hard drive, access a wide variety of additional performance software, and take advantage of the amazing range of computer music software for listening, composing, editing, even printing the music you play! It also opens the door to online resources, letting you download music from the Internet, for example, to play on your DGT2IIXG.
Privacy and Other Digital Advantages
When normal sound levels are not appropriate, the DGT2IIXG lets you control the volume of live or recorded performance. You can even play or listen in total privacy by simply plugging in headphones. There are other uniquely digital advantages as well. The DGT2IIXG never needs tuning, but can easily be adjusted to match the pitch of other instruments. And with MIDI and AUX connections, it offers easy links to other electronic music and audio components.
Elegant, Space-Saving Design
The DGT2IIXG adds an aura of elegance to any room environment. Its classic curves and careful craftsmanship evoke the graceful lines of the traditional 'king of instruments.' You can even raise the lid to either of two open positions for extended sound projection and authentic visual appeal. Yet, at slightly more than half the weight of even the smallest Yamaha acoustic grand, the DGT2IIXG fits neatly into substantially smaller spaces and is far easier to move and transport.
