Switchable Inputs
It features two inputs switchable via an A/B switch at the top of the channel module. The "A" inputs are balanced XLR types (phantom power provided) while the "B" inputs are balanced TRS phone jacks that also accept unbalanced signals. This makes it possible to instantaneously switch from one source to another without having to repatch cables.
Input Pad and Gain Control with Peak Indicator
High-performance electronically balanced input circuitry with 20-dB pad switches and continuously-variable gain controls on each channel handle sources from low-output microphones to hot lines. Peak indicator LED that warns you when the channel's post-EQ signal level reaches or exceeds 3-dB below clipping.
3-band Equalizer and High pass Filter Switch
The low and high-frequency bands allow up to 15 dB of boost or cut at 80 Hz and 12kHz, respectively, with shelving response. The mid-frequency band offers the same +/-15 dB control range with peaking response centered at 2.5kHz. Each input channel has a switchable 80 Hz high-pass filter which can be used to cut out hum and subsonic rumble.
Four Auxiliary Sends
Each input channel has four auxiliary send controls- two pre-fader and two post-fader. Use the pre-fader sends to set up two separate monitor mixes while the post-fader sends feed external reverb, delay, or other signal processing devices.
PFL (PreFader Listen) Switch
To monitor the sound of just one channel via the headphones to check the EQ or track down an elusive noise, simply press the PFL switch for the channel you want to monitor and only that signal will appear at the headphone output.
Linear AUX Send Masters with AFL Switches
Individual linear master send faders are provided for all four auxiliary buses. Each auxiliary bus also has an AFL (After Fader Listen) switch so you can individually monitor the post-fader auxiliary output signals via headphones.
Peak-reading LED Meters and Select Switches
The MX200-series consoles all feature fast-response LED vertical bar-graph meters for level monitoring. In one Meter Select switch position the first two meters display the stereo output levels, the third shows the mono bus level, while the fourth displays the PFL and AFL bus levels. The second Meter Select switch setting displays the auxiliary 1, 2, 3, and 4 bus levels on the corresponding meters.
Rec Out and Tape In Level Controls
These controls, in conjunction with the Rec Out and Tape In jacks on the connector panel, make it easy to hook up a stereo tap recorder to both record the program from the stereo bus and play back back recorded material via the stereo bus.
XLR and TRS Phone Jack Inputs
Each input channel is equipped with both XLR-type and TRS ( Tip Ring Sleeve) phone connectors. Both connectors accept balanced signals, while the TRS phone jacks also accept mono input from sources connected via a standard mono phone plug.
Channel Insert Connectors
These TRS phone jacks can be used to insert an external signal processor into the corresponding channel's signal path.
Tape In and Rec Out Jacks
-10dB pin jacks can be directly connected to a tape recorder or other audio source for convenient stereo recording and playback.
