DX7

The DX7 has a 32-Voice internal memory, while external cartridges can be plugged in to provide an additional 64 Voices, making a total of 96 Voices available to the performer for quick selection.

Microcomputer programming control makes it possible to edit existing voices to change their character, or to produce entirely new Voices. New Voices can also be created "from scratch."

Edited or new Voices can be stored either in the instrument's internal memory, or into an optional external memory cartridge, where they will be available for future use.

This is the normal performance mode, and the mode in which pre-programmed Voices can be selected.

Function Mode permits the setting of parameters pertaining to the effects of the controllers (including thumbwheel, foot controller, breath controller, key after touch) and is also used for loading and saving data.

Edit Mode permits editing of existing Voice data and the creation of entirely new Voices.

Using Store Mode, edited or newly created Voices can be saved into memory.
