I/O PORTS
Offers component rear panel infrared capabilities for custom installations.
2-WAY SPEAKER TERMINALS - - BANANA PLUG COMPATIBLE
Permits the use of a variety or speaker wires and connectors.
TOP-ART CHASSIS DESIGN
ToP-ART is Yamaha's exclusive chassis design. Circuitry is laid out in a logical, symmetrical arrangement to ensure the highest quality and strongest signal with the least amount of interference. From input to output, the signal travels along a path that is as short and direct as possible.
RECORD OUT SELECTOR
Allows you to record one source while watching or listening to another.
MOTORIZED INPUT SELECTOR
Convenient remote controllable, motor-driven input selector.
CD DIRECT SWITCH AND AMPLIFICATION CIRCUIT
This special feature provides greater signal clarity when listening to CDs by using a direct signal path. This low-noise amp circuit is specifically designed to match the signal level of CDs, so that each stage of amplification produces less noise, resulting in a significant improvement in signal-to-noise ratio.
CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE LOUDNESS CONTROL
At low volumes, the ear is less sensitive to low and high tones. A loudness switch does not solve the problem because it adjusts at only one level. Yamaha's exclusive Continuously Variable Loudness Control is the only way to fully compensate for this effect. This feature adjusts the volume while boosting or cutting the midrange to maintain proper tonal balance.
MOTOR -DRIVEN VOLUME CONTROL
Convenient remote control volume with LED indicator.
METAL FRONT PANEL
Prevents radio frequency interference (RFI) which degrades sound quality if component is placed near a TV or other source of RFI.
4 AUDIO AND 2A/V INPUTS
This receiver lets you hook up 4 audio and 2 audio/video components.
LINEAR DAMPING FACTOR CIRCUIT
A linear damping factor of 240 (8 ohms 20-20,000 Hz) means plenty of ability to stop the speaker cone from vibrating when the signal stops. Yamaha's circuit cancels the effect of level and frequency variations, maintaining a high, stable damping factor. The result is superior articulation of all sounds and significantly improved frequency response.
28 KEY SYSTEM REMOTE CONTROL
This means you can use the remote to control the major functions of other Yamaha components, reducing the number of remotes you need.
40 STATION RANDOM ACCESS PRESET TUNING
Preset stations can be grouped in five sets of eight, according to AM and FM, or musical genre, or any order you desire.
SLEEP TIMER
Switches unit off, after up to one hour of play.
A/B SPEAKER SELECTOR
Allows use of one or both sets of speakers.
