1080p HDMI with 3D and Audio Return Channel (4 In/ 1 Out) deliver crystal-clear, all-digital audio and video via a single cable, HDMI dramatically simplifies cabling and helps provide consumers with the highest-quality home theater experience. HDMI can provide an interface between most audio/video sources, such as a set-top box, Blu-ray player, DVD player, or AV Receiver and a video monitor, such as a High Definition Television (HDTV), over a single cable.
Audio Return Channel (ARC) is a distinctive 3D-ready function allows consumers to use a single HDMI connection to transfer digital audio from the TV back to the AV Receiver eliminating the need for a second cable between the TV and the home theater AV Receiver.
Surround Realism
HD Audio with CINEMA DSP
Yamaha’s exclusive CINEMA DSP technology supports playback of HD Audio (Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Master Audio, etc.), providing natural and expansive sound imaging.
Yamaha CINEMA DSP creates richly realized independent sound fields that envelop you in an unmatched surround sound experience. With dialogue, music and effects from ideally located in these separate sound fields, you will hear sound with accurate placement, smooth movement, exceptional clarity and richness, and startlingly realistic presence. It will seem as if the walls of your room have disappeared and you are in the middle of your own immense theater!
SCENE for One-Touch Start
The Four SCENE buttons make operating the receiver easier than ever. They are initially set to default settings for BD/DVD Viewing, CD Disc Listening, TV Viewing and Radio Listening. Pressing a SCENE button will automatically launch a number of operations that initiate play of the source controlled by that button. Other SCENE settings are also available, such as iPod Listening, SiriusXM Listening [model dependent], TV Sports Viewing and Action Game Playing. Browsing and selecting the settings is quickly accomplished by changing Input via the front panel and watching the on-screen display. The settings can be selected for one-time use, or they can replace the original default settings. The SCENE names can be changed also.
Compressed Music Enhancer
When music is encoded into a digitally compressed format like MP3, the frequency response suffers. This function restores what was lost, so your music always sounds the way it should.
Background Video Feature
Using this feature you can eliminate the audio from unwanted TV programs by playing your favorite music in the background instead. [background music sources vary by model].
Eco-Friendly Design
This model has a low standby power consumption (0.5W) and an Auto Power Down feature (selectable to 4, 8 or 12 hours) which help make this an environmentally friendly receiver

SILENT CINEMA™
SILENT CINEMA makes it possible to hear large-scale surround sound through ordinary headphones! This is a variation of CINEMA DSP technology that Yamaha developed to let you listen in private to movies and other multi-channel sources for hours without listening fatigue.
Compressed Music Enhancer
Yamaha employs sophisticated digital signal processing with exclusive algorithms to enable playback that improves the performance of compressed music formats, including MP3 and WMA. I have the RX-V371 connected to my 42" 1080p Panasonic plasma TV and my panasonic blue ray player. Everything works together seamlessly, the remote for my panasonic TV even works on the receiver with no extra set up. The sound is absolutely amazing. I am really happy that I decided to purchase a receiver separately, in opposed to purchasing a surround sound with a built in blue ray player, the extra cost was well worth it.My only gripe is the iPhone adapter. It's normally [$], but I was able to get it off of [@] for [$], that's not my issue. I made sure to purchase the adaptor that would play video from the iPhone, but I can not get video from the iPhone to play on this receiver. I think that the descriptions were a little misleading. Music however play beautifully and seamlessly through the iPhone dock.Overall, and a very happy with this receiver, it does everything that I expected it to, and more.

My Yamaha receiver performed perfectly right out of the box; except, I can't receive any broadcast audio either AM or FM. The display reads "Decoader Off" but my owners manual does not explain how to turn it on. I call the tech support number on your website and the technician suggested I find a local repair shop. I'm disappointed, this is an otherwise fine product but with one major flaw.

My wife and I purchased a cheap home-theater-in-a-box earlier this year and it died in approximately 8 months. We are budget-minded and as I'd had tremendously good luck with Yamaha products in the past, and this receiver was VERY reasonably priced, we thought we'd give it a shot. So far we're very impressed with the performance of this receiver. The setup was easy, the sound is excellent and the power more than adequate for our small living room. We mainly use it for watching movies. The only gripe I have is that there is no output for unpowered subwoofers, so we needed to purchase a powered sub to go with it.

I am very happy with Yamaha Rx-V371. It was easy to set up, puts out great sound quality at a nice price, but my favorite feature is the pre-set sound themes. From movie, to concert hall to sports and about a dozen more. It eliminated a lot of the tedious manual adjustment I have had to do on my previous receiver. I think this is a great value for the quality you get.

We bought this product last February as we were tired with those "5.1 Home theater" systems that includes a small sized speaker, so we bought this AV receiver and paired it with a floor standing speakers, and to my surprise, after the YPAO setup, it sounds so good! I played a song, and I can really hear all the instruments and details!and the best part is that you can easily connect any type of speaker here! it even has a convenient 3.5mm jack at the front, so you don't need to use some what kind of converter or adapter to connect your laptop or MP3, it's even compatible with a bluetooth adapter, so you can pair this with your mobile device..so for people who are looking for a Good Sounding and Good Looking AV Receiver for an affordable price, then, look no more. because, this receiver is for you!

I have an LG 42" LCD, DVR and playstation3 all hooked up to the surround sound. This is an awesome product. I did however have an issue with the system not powering up one day. I sent it to Yamaha for a no hassel experience! They fixed the problem and I am enjoying my set up. Thanks guys, great job!
