4K Pass-through for Next Generation Super High Resolution Images
This AV receiver provides advanced HDMI features including 4K pass-through. 4K refers to four times the resolution of a 1080p display. HDMI with 3D and Audio Return Channel
3D means the receiver can handle 3D signal data. The Audio Return Channel function enables data to be sent and received via the same HDMI cable so you can hear the sound from the TV via a single HDMI cable with no need for an extra optical cable.
HDMI CEC for Easy Operation
Another benefit of HDMI is the availability of CEC functionality. SCENE – A NEW LEVEL OF OPERATING EASE
Four SCENE buttons make operating the receiver easier than ever. They are initially set to default settings for DVD viewing, disc listening, TV viewing and radio listening. Pressing a SCENE button automatically launches a number of operations that initiate play of the source controlled by that button. Other SCENE settings are also available, such as iPod listening, XM listening, TV sports viewing and action game playing. Browsing and selecting the settings is quickly accomplished by changing Input via the front panel and watching the on-screen display. The settings can be selected for one-time use or they can replace the original default settings. The SCENE names can be changed, too.

YPAO™ Automatic System Calibration
Yamaha’s YPAO system uses a small microphone and sophisticated equalization to automatically set the best sound for any room, no matter where the speakers are. First, it checks the speaker connections and phase of each speaker. Then it sends out tones which are captured by the microphone to analyze the room acoustics and sets a variety of parameters, such as the speaker size, the distance of the speakers and even the sound pressure level, etc. Until it achieves the best sound conditions for your room and you don't have to do anything!
ECO Mode
ECO mode reduces power consumption by about 20 percent*. It can be set easily from the top of the GUI/OSD menu.

This unit replaced a popular brand receiver that died for the 3 rd time in 8 years.
Gave up on that brand and beings I have 4 yamaha speakers that are 30 years old and have worked without a hitch, it was only normal to buy a Yamaha receiver.
Am glad I did... the sound is much better than the old unit. Easier to setup and the 4 HDMI inputs and 1 out to the TV allowed me to get rid of 4 audio cables that was making my cabinet look like a rats nest. Much cleaner looking now.
You can't go wrong with this receiver.
The only problem I am having has nothing to do with Yamaha, but the Comcast remote controls are hard coded and doesn't have the code for this unit in them. So I have to use 2 remotes instead of one.
Called Comcast and he said they are aware of that and recode their remotes very 2 or 3 years so just keep checking for the newer remotes.

At first it almost seems overwhelming, then as you look at it, it really is easy to set it up. With the multiple HDMI inputs I was able to clean up connections from the back of my television. The sound is vastly superior compared to my old receiver.

New small apartment. Old Pioneer Elite dead out of storage. And always wanted to play with Yamaha DSP tech. After all, they are notorious for it. And this is an outstanding receiver! Lots of custom config options. Simple interface. And solid sound for the money. My days of $2k units are over. I'm getting too old. My standard stress test was handled nicely for what this receiver is. "Michael Murray Bach Organ Blaster". Do yourself a favor, buy this and with the money saved go to Vegas for the weekend!

I bought a Pioneer VSX-522. Had some big issues with it and demanded to swap it with a different one. I swapped and got this RX-V375. Not only is it good, it's unbelievable!! The sounds is crystal clear, literally. And the bass capabilities are are crazy!! You can get more bass than you want or less. So you're able to find that perfect level for your room. I don't write reviews unless I'm angry about something, except for this case. It's so good, I had to! BUY THIS!!
