TOP-ART DESIGN
ToP-ART stands for Total Purity Audio Reproduction Technology. It dictates that every factor that could affect performance is analyzed and optimized. For example, the path the audio signal travels is straight and direct, so from beginning to end, it encounters the least possible amount of interference. The entire interior layout is symmetrical and logical, resulting in extremely high channel separation and ultra-low distortion.
HEAVY-DUTY TOP-ART BASE
To support these heavy components and prevent vibration and resonance, Yamaha has a special base inside the chassis. It has a double panel structure, each 1.6mm thick, and the CX-1 adds extra damping material between the two panels. It's all supported by XL-AV (extra large, anti-vibration) feet.
4-GANG VOLUME CONTROL
Low noise, motorized precision volume control.
30 KEY SYSTEM REMOTE CONTROL
Allows you to control the major functions of other Yamaha system components such as a CD player, cassette deck, tuner or turntable, from the amplifier's remote control.
MOTOR DRIVEN INPUT SELECTOR AND VOLUME CONTROL
See and hear your volume adjustments and make your input selections right from your seat. This feature eliminates the noise and distortion inherent in most electronic switching systems.
REMOTE POWER LINK
Remote power link with Yamaha MX-1 and MX-2 Amps for custom installation applications allowing the power amp to be turned on and off with the preamp.
8 AUDIO INPUTS
The CX-1 allows you to select seven different inputs (CD, tuner, phone, aux, tape 1/2/3).
RECORD OUT SELECTOR
For direct selection of the source to be recorded and three-way tape copying.
CENTER DEFEAT TONE CONTROLS
Center defeat bass and treble controls....
PURE DIRECT SWITCH
For the ultimate in signal purity, you can engage the Pure Direct Switch, causing the signal to bypass the tone control circuitry.
SWITCHABLE PHONO SUBSONIC FILTER
This feature eliminates the rumble which some turntables may produce.
GOLD PLATED TERMINALS
Because gold is an excellent conductor and not susceptible to corrosion, this unit has gold-plated input terminals and headphone jacks. The CX-1 goes a step further, with 2pin gold-plated solid brass CD and Pre Out terminals for large-size cables.
MOVING COIL AND MOVING MAGNET CARTRIDGE CAPABILITY
Allows you to use either type of phone players.
PURE CAPACITIVE NEGATIVE FEEDBACK CIRCUITRY
Gives you a 20dB volume control amplifier.
