When the switch is engaged, the input signal bypasses the bass, treble, loudness, and balance circuits and travels straight to the power amplifier. You can choose this short, direct path if you want maximum signal purity.

At low volumes, the ear is less sensitive to low and high tones. A loudness switch does not solve the problem because it adjusts at only one level. Yamaha's exclusive Continuously Variable Loudness Control is the only way to fully compensate for this effect. This feature adjusts the volume while boosting or cutting the midrange to maintain proper tonal balance.

This means you can use the remote to control the major functions of other Yamaha components, reducing the number of remotes you need.
