POWERFUL HOME THEATER RECEIVER
5-channel receiver providing finest performance and processing available for music and video sound. 5 channels are: L/R Main, Front Ctr, L/R Rear Effects. It has a pre-out for Rear Center to deliver the newest 6-channel formats Dolby Digital Matrix 6.1 and DTS ES. Features Yamaha's Digital Sound Field Processing, Cinema DSP, Tri-Field Processing, Dolby Surround Pro Logic, Dolby Digital processing, Digital ToP-ART design for signal integrity, is compatible with Panja and Crestron for easy set-up.
DIGITAL Top-ART DESIGN
Yamaha's Digital ToP-ART - Total Purity Audio Reproduction - design philosophy maximizes digital quality and minimizes analog circuitry. Specifics include high performance digital circuitry using 24-bit DACs for all output channels, a digitally regulated volume control, processor direct switch, high density Cinema DSP circuitry, utilizing Yamaha's 32-bit YS-928 LSI, two decoding LSIs, and low impedance drive amplifier featuring superior power transistors and gigantic heat sinks.
DISCRETE POWER TRANSISTORS
Discrete power transistors rather than IC chips are used in the amplifier section to provide the cleanest sound possible. The amp delivers 100 watts each to five channels.
45 SOUND FIELD MODES-INCLUDING 70mm CINEMA DSP, TRI-FIELD PROCESSING DSP*
Yamaha's exclusive Digital Sound Field Processing for music recreates the acoustic personalities of actual concert halls and other venues, such as the Roxy Theater in L.A., Village Gate in N.Y., Anaheim Stadium, and concert halls and churches in Europe. New soundfields include New York's Bottom Line and Entertainment modes. 35mm and 70mm Cinema DSP multiplies the effects of Dolby Pro Logic and Yamaha DSP to provide the best possible Pro Logic movie theater recreation in your home.
BUILT-IN DOLBY DIGITAL
Discrete surround is the most advanced and realistic encoded surround sound for movies. The new Dolby Digital system is a fully discrete system providing 5.1 channels of sound. Five are full-frequeny channels, and the sixth is a low frequency effects channel.
Like Dolby Digital, DTS is a discrete 5.1 channel system. It uses a higher bit-rate for greater resolution and is available on DVDs, laser discs and music CDs.
Yamaha's exclusive Tri-Field Processing which applies Digital Sound Field Processing technology to Dolby digital and DTS to create a true movie theater experience in the home. It develops independent enhanced sound fields for the front signals as well as for left and right surround.
DOLBY PRO LOGIC
Still a very popular format for movie surround sound and superbly handled by the RX-V1000.
Great for casual listening and parties, Yamaha's All-Channel stereo puts music through all speakers in the system and maintains stereo imaging.
Building on technology incorporated into its world famous "silent" musical instruments, Yamaha has added HRTF and "Virtual" technology to create a realistic surround movie effect using standard, two-channel headphones.
NEW YAMAHA DESIGNED IC CHIPS
Yamaha has designed and employed single function IC chips, called ASICs. ASICs are more efficient than multi-function chips and provide the most accurate decoding possible. Yamaha's YSS-928 is a 32-bit ASIC that provides Dolby Digital, Dolby Pro Logic, DTS, Cinema DSP and Tri-Field Processing.
6-CHANNEL INPUTS FOR EXTERNAL DECODER
The RX-V1000's rear panel has input jacks to accommodate an external 6-channel decoder. The receiver is ready for DVD-Audio, or any other 5.1 channel format, should one be developed.
AUTO PRIORITY INPUT SELECTION
When different input formats are connected from the same source, the RX-V1000 will automatically prioritize them and select in order AC-3 RF, coaxial digital, optical digital, and finally the analog input.
AUTO SOUND DECODER
The RX-V1000 senses a DTS or Dolby Digital signal and will automatically switch the receiver to the appropriate mode when the signal is detected. The selected mode is displayed on front panel.
ON-SCREEN DISPLAY WITH SPEAKER TEST MODE
Allows you to easily establish, change, and adjust settings from across the room. The on-screen display gives you a visual readout of the receiver's settings on your TV or monitor screen. The on-screen speaker test mode makes it easier to balance speaker output from your listening position.
CUSTOM INSTALLATION COMPATIBLE
The RX-V1000's back panel incorporates an RS-232C port which can be used for connecting a Panja, Crestron or similar type touch pad controller. It provides interactive control functions beyond those of a standard remote control and can provide a Zone 2 output for multi-room capability.
NEW LEARNING AND PROGRAMMABLE REMOTE CONTROL*
The advanced remote control with the RX-V1000 has learning capability and can be programmed for up to 10 macros, so it can perform a sequence of functions at the touch of a single button. The remote can adjust the subwoofer volume. It can also access extended IR codes for direct entry of all receiver functions.
SIX DIGITAL INPUTS
The RX-V1000 can accommodate six digital sources such as DVD, CD, LD, Cable/Sat, D-TV and MD.
FOUR AUDIO AND 6 AUDIO/VIDEO INPUTS
The RX-V1000 is a versatile receiver incorporating four sets of audio-only inputs and 7 pairs of A/V inputs. All the video inputs have RCA jacks and S-video terminals. Includes one set of A/V inputs on the front panel for fast and easy connection.
Back-panel couplers for the main left and right and center channels make it easy to insert outboard equalizers or other processing.
PRE-OUTS FOR ALL OTHER CHANNELS INCLUDING SUBWOOFER
The front channels, rear center channel, and subwoofer all have pre-out connections. This allows you to add outboard amplification and direct subwoofer connection.
LOW IMPEDANCE DRIVE CAPABILITY AND IMPEDANCE SWITCHING
Yamaha's famed low impedance drive circuitry is included in this receiver so that it can handle virtually all loads and a wide variety of speakers. For further speaker matching, the amplifier can set for either 4- or 8- ohm speakers.
LINEAR DAMPING FACTOR CIRCUIT
The advantage of full range, 20 to 20,000 Hz, damping is that it improves the definition and resolution of the sound output throughout the audible frequency range.
RECORD OUT SELECTOR
You can listen to one source and record another.
BASS EXTENSION CONTROL
Accentuates the bass by adding a 7 dB boost at around 70 Hz.
TONE BYPASS SWITCH
Allows you to bypass the bass and treble controls and provides a flat, pure signal.
A/B SPEAKER SELECTOR
Allows selection of either a first set of speakers main speaker or a second - or both.
Permits a delayed receiver turn off. You can set it for up to two hours in 30 minute increments.
40-STATION DIRECT ACCESS PRESET TUNING
Up to 40 preset AM and FM stations can be grouped in five groups eight stations. These groupings make it easy for family members to easily access their favorite stations or to have musical genres, such as all the jazz stations, grouped together.
BINDING POST SPEAKER TERMINALS
Yamaha's heavy-duty binding post speaker terminals accept banana plugs, spade connectors, and a variety of speaker wire, including heavy gauge cable.

Comments about Yamaha rx-v1000_black__u:
I have this AV Receiver since 8-9 years ago, and I couldn't find something like this.
I used basically to listen music, using just analog connections and a 2.1 sound.
CD's, Vinyl and even cassettes are great with this equipment.
I bought a RX-A1000 to have an upgrade of my old RX-V1000 and I was dissapointed because I couldn't have the same sound.
