GX-500

Ideal for bedroom or den, this small, high quality audio system consists of a central module incorporating a pre-amp, tuner, auto-reverse cassette deck, CD changer, and Active Servo Technology amplifier, Two Active Servo Technology speakers complete the system.

Yamaha's Active Servo Technology is a complementary amplifier/speaker system utilizing negative impedance feedback in the amp and Helmholtz resonator speaker design to provide strong and accurate bass from small speakers. If more bass is wanted, the GX-500 has a subwoofer output, so a separate sub can be added. The amplifier provides 75 watts per channel.

YMERSION is a proprietary Yamaha technology which enhances a stereo presentation. Based on psycho-acoustic principles, YMERSION relies on feedback circuitry to correct transfer characteristices and broaden the sound field.

The GX-500's cassette deck provides convenience features. In addition to auto-reverse, the deck features Dolby B noise reduction, electronic tape counter, and CD synchro record.

The three-disc Cd changer features Yamaha's PlayXchange which permits two discs to be swapped while the third is playing. High performance quality is assured by Yamaha's S-Bit Digital-to-Analog (DAC) Integrated Circuits and 8X oversampling.

Complementary circuitry in the CD changer and cassette deck permits synchronized recording of a CD with the touch of one button. Pressing the Synchro Start button on the remote control places the cassette deck in the record mode, activates the deck's transport, and then, a few seconds later, automatically triggers the CD changer's play mode.

Favorite stations can be tuned at the touch of a button on the unit or remote control keypad. With 40 available, each family member can have a group. The tuner also features auto-tuning and preset memory functions.

The GX-500's built-in signal processor has modes for Rock, Pop, and Jazz music, as well as Yamaha's new Ymersion.

A pair of three-way bass reflex speakers complete the GX-500. Each magnetically shielded speaker incorporates a 5-1/8" cone woofer, 2" tweeter, and 3/4" super tweeter.

Multi-function remote control keypad provides easy operation of this versatile system.
