These speakers replaced a 15 year old pair of "realistic" outdoor speakers. They did the job, but barely. The Yamahas ROCK! They're plenty loud enough for the deck and back yard, and have great highs and decent bass. I heard alot of people complain or mention the bass...I think it's fine for my needs. I would recommend to anyone

I added these speakers to my second story deck just under the eves at my walk out style ranch home. It's something I've wanted to do for years and finally did it. They sound great powered by my Onkyo receiver and have plenty of bass, midrange and highs. I am very pleased with my purchase and would and will recommend these speakers to anyone!

We use these speakers facing the patio about 30 ft away mounted on the wall of the garage under the soffit. I mounted these vertically so I could point them at the center of the patio. These are wired to a 100 watt receiver. Bass boost on the receiver is not necessary. But, you can use bass boost at lower volumes without breakup. At higher volumes, these speakers had extremely adequate frequency response. Bass was punchy and clear and high end was quite distinct. These speakers are adequate for rock, blues, country, and jazz.

I've always liked Yamaha products for their quality and dependabilty, and needless to say I was pleasntly surprised how well these speakers sounded after I installed them. Easy to install, great sound, what more could you ask for? Thanks again Yamaha for excellent products!
