Comments about Yamaha fgx700sc:
I did a ton of research before buying the guitar and have to say I'm more than pleased. I'm a true beginner, to the point that I could only play a few chords on the guitars I tested before deciding on a purchase. I looked at more expensive guitars, including an Ovation Celebrity Contour, a Breedlove Passport C250 and even a Seagull Entourage. At nearly $200.00 less than those guitars, this guitar is a tremendous value and definitely holds it's own in sound quality. I've had the guitar for nearly a month now and it sounds wonderful, was set up nearly perfect off the shelf with a very playable action and the built in tuner is spot on with my Snark. I can't think of a better buy for a beginner looking for a quality guitar without breaking the bank. The only thing I did to the guitar was have a new set of DR Rare strings put on. (I wasn't sure how long the guitar was on the shelf and how many people had played it). The technician at the shop who takes care of my daughter's violin and also plays guitar was impressed with the overall quality and sound of the guitar. When I told him how much I paid, he was even more impressed!

Comments about Yamaha fgx700sc:
I bought this to play at home mostly, practicing and recording. The action and neck/fret feel is nice. I just love picking this thing up. It sounds nice and plays great. It's not perfect but would be hard to beat for the money. There are a couple of blemishes in the top grain, and the detail around the soundhole and fretboard are pretty simple but overall it seems well constructed. I played another brand in the same price range and there was no comparison, the FGX700SC is clearly a better playing guitar.
