Monel pistons are resistant to corrosion and are an ideal choice for professional cornet pistons which must retain precise fit and smooth action over many years.
Hand-lapped pistons and slides
Hand-lapping pistons and slides ensures an absolutely perfect fit and seal between the pistons and casings or slide parts. Such a perfect fit helps to achieve smooth air flow and smooth action and improve the response and intonation of the instrument.
Pressure-formed tubing
Perfectly rounded tubing results in less turbulence and a smoother air flow, thus allowing for an excellent scale and reduced resistance.
Laser-fused pluzuma welded bell
A high-energy laser fuses the brass together for a virtually seamless bell whih allows continuous even vibrations.
One-piece, drawn, gold brass leadpipe
This type of leadpipe offers excellent intonation, response and proper resistance.
Lightweight construction
The YCR-6330S combines lightweight construction with short-type cornet design to facilitate a relatively brilliant sound favored by soloists.

Comments about Yamaha ycr-6330s:
I bought this horn to complement my trumpet with a more mellow-sounding tone. I mainly play classical pieces and just play for the sake of playing. I'm not a professional, but I've been playing trumpet for about 17 years. I wanted it for a nice-to-have, fun-to-play instrument that takes less effort to produce a good sound than a trumpet. I have played other cornets, but didn't test-play this one first. I've played Yamaha before and figured that it's hard to go wrong. I wasn't let down.
I expected a professional-level cornet from Yamaha with this purchase, and that's exactly what I got. I opted for this over the 8335 because I wasn't interested in the trigger mechanism. I wanted simplicity at a fair price, and I liked the small differences in styling of this one more.
This horn is just what I expected it to be: a solid instrument with a deep, mellow sound production when used with a deep mouthpiece (I use a CR14E). Dynamic response is great. Everything is very tight on it (tight meaning tolerances are very small), so there's no slop. It arrived clean in a very-handy, well-made case.
It's an outright joy to play! It's very responsive. It sings very well. The valves are clean and handle very well. The slides behave like they're supposed to. It plays very easily, smooth, like soft butter. It looks really cool too!
I have no complaints really. The only complaints I have are more to do with my personal playing and bad habits than this horn.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
