Compact and lightweight: easy to transport
The Venova is easy to transport because it is roughly 1/8 the weight of a conventional saxophone. At just 460 mm for the YVS-100, 590 mm for the YVS-120 and 697 mm for the YVS-140, the Venova is more compact than conventional saxophones.

Like the saxophone, the Venova is a single-reed instrument that sounds different depending on how hard or soft you blow. The fully chromatic two-octave range lets you enjoy playing a wide variety of tunes.

We added the YVS-140 Tenor Venova to the lineup to provide a third option to suit your preferences. Play your favorite tunes with the bright tones of the YVS-100, the passionate voice of the YVS-120 Alto Venova or the gentle voice of the YVS-140 Tenor Venova.

How to play the Venova
Preparation
Set the reed and ligature.
Posture
Stand up straight and place the mouthpiece in your mouth with the reed resting on your lower lip. Gently bite down with your upper front teeth.
Play
Take a full breath, close your lips around the mouthpiece, and blow into the instrument.
Fingering
Change the notes by changing your fingers. The Venova uses fingerings similar to a recorder.
FORM FOLLOWS TECHNOLOGY
Innovation and creativity do not come about by accident. The unique shape of the instrument, which produces a sound surprisingly similar to a full-sized saxophone but with a much smaller body, is the result of many years of research.
