Redesigned in 2001, this new bell features a 'resonance chamber' cutout inside the bell. Students will find this 'chamber' allows for a fuller tone with additional projection. This bell design is a great example of a vertically integrated feature from the V-series custom clarinets. (Vertically integrated means that features from the very top end instruments are found throughout the lineup and even down to the very beginning models).

Players will no doubt immediately notice the beautiful sparkle to the keys on the Advantage clarinet. Silver-plating is commonly found on intermediate level instruments, and has a strong, secure feel for the players as the move about the keys.

The bridge keys are the place where the upper and lower joints are connected. Without the bridge key functioning properly, the instrument will be unable to sound any of the lower notes. Because of the location of these keys, students when putting the instrument together often damage them. Not so with Yamaha clarinets. The bridge keys are shaped in such a way to allow the upper connector to easily slide over the lower connector eliminating any possible jamming or breaking of the bridge keys.

This durable material is commonly used for student level clarinets. It's key feature is that of durability, and to back this up, all Yamaha student clarinets (including the Advantage model) feature a 5-year warranty on the ABS resin body.
