After extensive testing with an emphasis on sound, Yamaha selected top-quality leather pads. These pads allow breath to flow easily and stress-free while making it easier to produce beautiful, warm tone. Because the surfaces of the pads don’t vibrate when the instrument is played, no spurious pad noise occurs and breath flows directly toward the bell for outstanding projection.
Effortless performance.
As all musicians know, the less you have to support your instrument, the easier it is to perform. The attached peg in the 631 reduces the amount of weight the player needs to support by almost half. You'll find it also prevents the instrument's center of gravity from shifting too far forward, so you can easily maintain correct playing posture.
