VIRTUAL RESONANCE MODELING
Our Virtual Resonance Modeling (VRM) technology faithfully reproduces the extraordinarily complex sounds of a grand piano. Every keystroke and pedal press brings out nuanced tones, enriching your musical experience with an incredibly broad spectrum of sound.
GRAND EXPRESSION MODELING TECHNOLOGY
Acoustic pianos have an intricate assembly of internal mechanisms, including hammers, dampers, and strings, that elaborately interact with each other as they respond to the subtle variations in a player's touch. Grand Expression Modeling technology accurately simulates this complex interplay between player and instrument, reproducing the same limitless tonal variation of a grand piano.
TWO WORLD-RENOWNED GRAND PIANOS IN ONE ELEGANT INSTRUMENT
The NU1XA harnesses the sounds of two globally acclaimed grand pianos: the Yamaha CFX and the Bösendorfer Imperial. The CFX is the pinnacle of Yamaha grand pianos, possessing a wide range of dynamic tones from sparkling highs to a profoundly deep bass, while the Bösendorfer's flagship Imperial model is known for its delicate tonal color and its warm Vienna sound.
BINAURAL SAMPLING DELIVERS EXTRAORDINARILY NATURAL SOUND
When playing the NU1XA with headphones on, you don’t have to sacrifice any of the luxuriously rich piano sound. Binaural Sampling technology reproduces the immersive sensation of playing an acoustic piano. The resulting sound is so natural and enveloping, you’ll forget you even have headphones on.
AUTHENTIC FORTEPIANO VOICES
The NU1XA features four additional piano voices that authentically reproduce the sound of the “fortepiano” from the 1700s and 1800s, allowing you to experience the characteristic sounds of the pianos from the eras of Mozart, Beethoven and Chopin.

The NU1XA has a beautiful yet unassuming touch-sensitive control panel that allows you to easily operate various basic functions, including Voice selection, reverb and metronome control. When not in operation, the display panel and virtually disappears, making the overall appearance even more like an acoustic piano.
