Podcasting to the Masses - One Year Anniversary

The Yamaha Winds Department is pleased to announce the one year anniversary of offering free podcasts. The podcasts are available for free download to anyone using an iPod or similar mp3 player – or simply enjoy them within iTunes. Content includes video and audio clips of clinics and concerts, new product announcements, lessons from Yamaha Artists, interviews with artists and other informative and entertaining media. These podcasts will keep you informed of current and upcoming events, hot new product releases and give you the chance to really experience what Yamaha has to offer.

Yamaha Wind Instrument Podcasts were launched in November of 2005, and a new podcast has launched every two weeks since then – totalling 25 exclusive episodes. The podcasts include such noted artists as Chase Sanborn, Phil Woods, Jim Self, Wayne Bergeron, Dave Koz and Jeff Coffin. The 'One-Year Anniversary' podcast will feature exclusive concert footage filmed at the Yamaha Day of Jazz, featuring Yamaha Artists Jeff Coffin (saxophone), Stefon Harris (vibraphone), Christian Howes (electric violin) and Jeremy Pelt (trumpet).

Think of podcasting as a radio/talk show. Just as with traditional radio programming, you can find what topics appeal to you and listen to them for free. Podcasts also offer the benefit of listening to the programs whenever you want, and they are automatically updated for you as new programs become available.

All that you need to begin checking out the Yamaha Podcasts is a portable mp3 player and a computer with software such as Apple iTunes. The software will grab any new podcasts that you have subscribed to and will send them to your mp3 player whenever updates are found. For more information, check out www.apple.com/podcasting and you can find a great deal of information on how to explore this new medium.
