International Piano-e-Competition Virtual Auditions

Rising classical pianists will meet cutting edge music technology as they compete in the virtual auditions of the Third Annual International Piano-e-Competition, taking place February 10th, 11th and 12th at Sundin Hall at Hamline University in St. Paul, Minn.

Audition Schedule:
February 10th: 9 am to 10:30 pm
February 11th: 9 am to 10:30 pm
February 12th: 9 am to 7:30 pm

More than 60 artists from around the world have performed at live screening auditions on Yamaha Disklavier reproducing pianos in Shanghai, China, Paris, France, Buena Park, Calif. and New York City. The contestants' audition performances were digitally videotaped and recorded as MIDI data on a Yamaha Disklavier® concert grand piano at each audition site.

At Sundin Hall, note-for-note performances will be recreated and synchronized with high-quality video for "e-judging" by a distinguished jury. Twenty four final contestants will be selected by a six-member screening panel who will judge the performances using a Disklavier and a large video screen. Members of the public are invited to experience this unique musical competition.

This exciting event is FREE and open to the public. To learn more, visit www.piano-e-competition.com.

The finalists will be chosen to compete live at the competition finals taking place in Minneapolis July 2 - 14, 2006, where the final winner will be selected. The Grand Prize winner of the competition will receive a prize package that includes a cash award of $25,000, a recital at Alice Tully Hall, a Yamaha Disklavier polished ebony grand piano and a CD release issue on the Ten Thousand Lakes label.
