Yamaha Certified Sales Professional Program Offers Online Training to Dealers

BUENA PARK, Calif. — Yamaha Corporation of America, Band & Orchestral Division, has launched the Yamaha Certified Sales Professional (YCSP) program at www.yamaha.com/ycsp.

Yamaha Certified Sales Professional
This series of online audiovisual-based training modules is designed to provide detailed information to help dealers with overall understanding of Yamaha Band & Orchestral instruments, including woodwind & brass, percussion and string instruments. These modules will highlight unique features of Yamaha products, as well as some industry-wide specifications for each instrument. The program is free and open to all Yamaha Band & Orchestral dealers.

There are two ways to view each module: within a Flash Player in your browser as an iTunes podcast episode, or as an enhanced podcast on your iPod or compatible MP3 player. Each training module has an accompanying quiz (containing up to 12 questions), which must be viewed and submitted online. After completing the test with a 100% correct score, dealers will have the opportunity to print the test material for future reference.

To receive full certification, dealers must complete 27 sessions and pass the corresponding quizzes perfectly. For every six completed sessions they will advance to the next level and receive a YCSP award. On successfully passing level 27, certification is complete and dealers will receive a Yamaha Travel attaché bag, as well a certificate for in-store display. Also, upon request Yamaha will send a high-resolution version of the YCSP logo for use on business cards or résumés.

"We are very excited about the new online training program that Yamaha has developed," states George Quinlan, Jr. of Quinlan & Fabish Music Co. "Staff training and development will always be one of the most important areas for our company; we are delighted that it's now available on a 24/7 basis!"

Yamaha is the industry leader in providing quality musical instruments, research, information and service to educators, students and musicians, both aspiring and professional.

"A certification is a mark of excellence that you carry with you throughout your career," notes Rick Young, Vice President/General Manager, Yamaha Band & Orchestral Division. "Most importantly, certifications are a reliable validation of training and experience that will accelerate professional development, improve productivity and enhance credibility. Yamaha is committed to your development as a music sales professional; together, we can advance our passion for music-making and entertainment."

The Yamaha Certified Sales Professional is only one program within Yamaha's Dealer Development Services.
