Yamaha Presents Live Telecast of Day of Jazz Violin

Los Angeles, Calif. — Yamaha recently presented its first-ever live concert broadcast featuring five renowned jazz violinists. The highly successful April 19 event featured Yamaha Artists Christian Howes, Mads Tolling, Charlie Bisharat, Lisa Haley and special guest Antonio Pontarelli backed by an all-star rhythm section led by Russ Miller on drums.

These renowned artists showcased original works using acoustic and electric violins and the concert culminated with all artists playing on stage together for a very special finale. This event was broadcast from the Pasadena Jazz Institute live to the web at www.yamaha.com/thehub. Highlights of the event are available for viewing here.

For Jeff Hawley, Yamaha's Manager of Marketing Content and veteran video producer, the NewTek TriCaster portable live production system has significantly streamlined the normal two-to-eight day process of shooting, importing, editing and rendering footage for viewing on the Internet.

"NewTek TriCaster definitely represents a paradigm shift," he explains. "It can produce and deliver video content over the Internet instantly, and that has totally changed everything. We're looking to repeat this type of live streaming event much more often in the future."

With NewTek TriCaster, anyone can produce network-style live video and distribute the event simultaneously to web, video and projector. A single operator or small team can produce a live show while switching between as many as six cameras with two DDR's, multi-channel effects and NewTek's proprietary LiveSet™ virtual sets. In addition to being used by Yamaha to stream Day of Jazz Violin, and the Alicia Keys Winter NAMM press conference, NewTek TriCaster is used by broadcasters, sports organizations, corporate communications departments, government agencies, schools and others to provide a new level of extended programming and content to their audiences.
