First-Ever Yamaha Scale Tuner App Now Available at Apple iTunes Store

BUENA PARK, Calif. — Yamaha Keyboard Division is pleased to launch Scale Tuner, its first-ever Electronic Keyboard app, now available for free at the App Store. This innovative App offers musicians real-time access to scale tuning control and empowers users to quickly change, store and recall scales while performing.

According to Yamaha Electronic Keyboard Marketing Manager Dane Madsen, "This exciting App embodies Yamaha's commitment to providing keyboardists with the most inventive and convenient technical tools to help unleash their creativity and artistic potential."

Enabling users to change the tuning of a compatible Yamaha keyboard or digital piano to Arabic or pure temperament tuning, Scale Tuner offers a variety of preset scales. Users can choose their preferred scales from a selection of equal and pure (major and minor), as well as eight typical Arabic scales. Users can also tune the individual key and save settings to five memory locations. The internal piano Voice lets you confirm the scale settings without the need of a connected MIDI keyboard.

Scale Tuner is compatible with the Clavinova CVP-500 Series and CGP-1000, as well as the PSR-S650/S710/S910 and Tyros4 arranger keyboards.

The App requires MIDI interface when connecting instruments. MIDI terminal connection is available via YAMAHA i-MX1 MIDI interface cable. Connection with USB TO HOST terminal is available via the Apple iPad Camera Connection Kit and USB cable (AB type).  USB TO HOST connection is compatible with iPad only.
