Renowned Yamaha artist Peter Baartmans holding workshops and concerts at select Yamaha dealers
Internationally recognized Yamaha product specialist and professional pianist to hold free workshops and performances on Yamaha Clavinova and Tyros 5
Peter Baartmans started to play music at the early age of 6. In 1969, Peter studied Piano and Church Organ while attending music school in Bergen op Zoom, in the Netherlands. In 1978, he continued his studies at the conservatory of Tilburg, also in the Netherlands. During that time, he began performing with different groups, from jazz big bands to local pop artists
In 1980, Peter participated in the Yamaha Electone Festival and won the national and European finals.
He went on to work for Yamaha Musical Instruments in 1981 as an Electone demonstrator in Holland. Soon, his musicianship and demonstration talents found him performing in concerts for Yamaha on all seven continents
Peter is also a prolific composer and recording artist. He’s produced 13 albums featuring his original compositions and his own unique arrangements of popular tunes.
"Playing the piano is so simple – all you have to do is press the right key, then let it go again!"
With these words, Peter really puts his finger on it. It appears so simple when you watch him play.
He elicits the most beautiful melodies from instruments with such ease and skill. His music, a mixture of classical, jazz, pop, and modern pieces of the highest quality, has become his hallmark today.
Peter's experience, style of presenting, and the expression of his music on Yamaha musical instruments are unique and unmistakable. Making music is an integral part of his life. Peter Baartmans leaves us with no doubt when he says: "Music is not just my profession, music is my passion."
