BUENA PARK, CA (January 1, 2001) — The new line of intermediate trombones from Yamaha represents the ultimate in integration of professional features with a reasonable price tag. The YSL-448G is a large bore (.547") instrument with F-attachment while the YSL-446G (F-attachment and YSL-445G are medium bore (.525") models. These exciting new trombones were based on the very popular 640 series professional models, while keeping in mind the budget constraints of today's step-up trombone customers.

The two F-attachment models (446G and 448G) feature a warm sounding bell material of gold brass, usually reserved for more expensive models. Yamaha product manager Kurt Witt remarks, "As more band directors looked for a bigger sound from their trombone section, we needed to address the intermediate market. The new 400 series trombones fill that void and provide an excellent value for the advancing student."
