Yamaha Introduces SW500 Powered Subwoofer
Buena Park, CA (January 23, 2003) In the tradition of providing compact, high-performance sound reinforcement products that include the MS400 and EMX660, Yamaha Corporation of America, Professional Audio, introduces the SW500 Powered Subwoofer at Winter NAMM 2002. The SW500 delivers 500 Watts of power (650 max.) in a low profile enclosure that is ideal for DJ systems, houses of worship, clubs, project studios and any small-to-medium portable or installed speaker system where low frequency augmentation is desired. The unit is currently available.
The ported bass reflex design maintains high efficiency and low distortion. The 15-in. driver provides up to 122dB SPL (1w @ 1 M), an overall frequency response of 40Hz to 120Hz, and can withstand the most demanding program material. An internal 500-Watt amplifier utilizes Yamaha's EEEngine Technology to maintain efficiency, low current draw, low heat and reduced weight.

The SW500 features balanced XLR A & B input connectors, balanced XLR A/B/THRU outputs, plus balanced XLR High Pass/A&B output connections. Controls include Master Level, Power, Phase, and Cutoff Frequency (80 Hz to 100 Hz). Cabinet construction utilizes sturdy Fir ply, covered with a durable black urethane finish.
