BUENA PARK, CA (February 24, 2003) — Gustavo Nuñez is the principal bassoon of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra of Amsterdam and he has recently switched to a YFG-812C. Yamaha Artist Relations staff invited Gustavo and the flute section to visit the Toyooka factory during a recent tour. While at the factory they met the instrument designers as well as the Custom shop staff who actually produce these instruments. Gustavo's preferred bassoon was sent to Europe for trials in his orchestra. The tests went as well as he had hoped and Gustavo has decided to buy the bassoon. The result of good cooperation – and a very good bassoon!

Gustavo Nuñez born in Uruguay is the 3rd generation of a long line of musicians. He studied in Germany under Klaus Thunemann and then played in various German orchestras before being awarded his current position of principal of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra. Nuñez is considered by many to be at the forefront of the new emerging style of European bassoonists and we are excited at having such an important artist playing a Yamaha.
