Stavenger Brass Band

BUENA PARK, CA (April 4, 2003) — Yamaha Musical Products in Grand Rapids Michigan was the host to a special performance of the award winning Stavanger Brass Band from Norway. While on their North American tour, the group made a special stop in Grand Rapids to perform for the Yamaha staff. Fresh from a championship at the North American Brass Band Association competition in Arkansas, the group thrilled the Yamaha employees with a great mixture of traditional brass band music and more modern compositions. The Stavanger Brass Band is an entirely Yamaha performing ensemble sponsored in part by Yamaha Scandinavia.

Following their performance, 13 of the brass players visited the YCA custom shop where they had a short presentation by Bob Malone and the YCA warranty staff. Several players were able to try some new prototype trumpets and tubas during this visit and experience Yamaha "International Kando" first hand.
