BUENA PARK, CA (December 17, 2003) — Smooth jazz recording artist Pamela Williams visited the Band and Orchestral Division's Custom Shop yesterday – trying a number of different alto saxes and necks. Working with the Custom Shop staff and YCC's Howard Anderson, she found a very personal and expressive voice in the new YAS-62S. She commented how great the lacquered and unlacquered Z models played as well, but was thrilled with the silver 62 with the standard G1 neck that really fit her playing style beautifully. After choosing it, a sterling silver thumbrest was installed and each key spring and pad opening was adjusted to her preferences, making a particularly comfortable and personalized key action. Miss Williams also plays the YSS-675 Soprano saxophone (seen on newest CD cover), and can be heard on Shanachie records. Her lastest CD is entitled "The Perfect Love".
