Professional Clarinets offer Superior Sound, Playability

ANAHEIM, CA (June 30, 2004) — Yamaha Band & Orchestral Division will unveil the YCL-CSG series clarinets at Winter NAMM 2004. The new series features a smaller bore, hand-tapered undercut tone holes, with the option of silver-plated or Hamilton-plated nickel silver keys. In addition, a short barrel and a longer upper joint with no metal bell ring contribute to a warm, focused sound and a smooth, even response throughout the full range of the instrument.

The CSG series is composed of four models: YCL-CSG (key of Bb with silver-plated nickel keys), YCL-CSGA (key of A with silver-plated nickel keys), YCL-CSGH (key of Bb with Hamilton-plated nickel silver keys) and YCL-CSGAH (key of A with Hamilton-plated nickel silver keys).

"Our design team, with the assistance of Colorado Symphony Principal Clarinetist Bil Jackson, worked extensively in designing a great playing clarinet that offers superior sound and ease of playing," notes Kurt Witt, Manager, Wind Instruments.

The professional clarinets are versatile enough to be used by orchestral players, chamber musicians and soloists throughout the world, as well as professionals, college players and advanced high school students.

The YCL-CSG series clarinets will be available in March.
