Santa Clara Vanguard Selects Yamaha

The Vanguard has won six DCI world Championship titles (73, 74, 78, 81, 89 and 99), along with many other regional championships titles. Membership in the Vanguard is primarily between the ages of 16 through a maximum age of 22.
(March 10, 2004) — Another of the top DCI drum corps has made the switch to Yamaha marching brass. Santa Clara Vanguard will join the Cadets, Cavaliers and Crossmen, among the top 12 drum corps using Yamaha brass during the 2004 Drum Corps season.

The Vanguard Drum & Bugle corps is a world-renowned, world champion drum and bugle corps that travels between six and eight weeks each summer throughout the United States and Canada performing in competitive field shows and parades. The Vanguard provides instruction for the experienced through the advanced member in the areas of brass, percussion and color guard.

SCV has purchased the following Yamaha instruments:
22 x YTR-8335S Xeno Trumpet
12 x YMP-203MS Marching Mellophone
22 x YBH-301MS Marching Baritone
10 x YBB-202MS Marching Tuba
