BUENA PARK, CA (May 7, 2004) — Yamaha Corporation of America, Band & Orchestral Division recently introduced three Tough-Terrain Frames.

Available for concert bass drums (T-CBASS), Deagan chimes (T-DCHIME) and gongs (T-GONG), Yamaha's Tough-Terrain Frames feature brawny, welded steel construction and aggressive 10-in. pneumatic tires that roll effortlessly over any field of play. Truly band-director-designed, the Tough-Terrain Frames require only minimal adjustments to eliminate loosening and subsequent loss of parts. Additionally, the frames are height-adjustable and can be adapted to older Yamaha instruments, while an available hitch system enables players to take performances to new places. A drop-down handle locks in place vertically when not in use, and all frames fit through standard doorways.

The T-CBASS accommodates 28 in. – 40 in. concert bass drums and can be tilted to any preferred playing angle. Two eye bolt-mounting positions allow for gong sizes up to 40 in. in the T-GONG, and the T-DCHIME moves Deagan chimes [the heaviest of the front ensemble gear] with great ease.

"The Tough-Terrain Frames provide a cost-effective way for pit percussion to be easily moved," says Troy Wollwage, Manager, Percussion. "These frames help the instruments stand up to the stress and natural elements that percussion instruments are put through on a daily basis. The addition of these frames rounds out the Yamaha line of Tough-Terrain Frames for marching percussion. The new features have been long awaited by band directors in need of quality frames that may be utilized for numerous performance venues without decreasing the life of the instrument."

The Tough-Terrain Frames are currently available.
