BUENA PARK, CA (June 4, 2004) — Over 250 directors representing band, orchestra, choral, and general music departments gathered for a day of music clinics on February 27th, 2004. Distinguished clinician and Yamaha artist, Otis Murphy, presented a talk entitled "The A-B-C's and X-Y-Z's of Classical Saxophone Performance" with cooperation and funding from American Music Group and Yamaha Corporation of America.

Downers Grove North HS in Downers Grove, IL was the gracious host of this event, which took place from 8:30AM-3:00PM. This was the twenty-first year that American Music has put on this county-wide musical gathering. Educators were eligible to receive five continuing education credits for directors to keep their certificates active. Former attendees, directors, and presenters included Mr. Bill Ludwig III, Larry Combs, Dr. Tim Lautzenheiser, and the Canadian Brass. The presenters and participants appreciated the help from AMG and Yamaha Corporation of America for providing a great opportunity for further education and understanding.
