BUENA PARK, CA (June 25, 2004)—The
Mix Foundation for Excellence in Audio recently announced its nominees
for the 20th Annual Technical Excellence & Creativity ( TEC) Awards,
to be selected October 30, 2004 during the 117th AES convention in San
Francisco. The Yamaha 01V96 and PM5000 mixing consoles have been nominated
in the respective categories of Outstanding Technical Achievement, Small
Format Console Technology and Sound Reinforcement Console Technology

The TEC Awards honor individuals, companies and technical innovations behind the sound of recordings, films, television shows and live performances. Nominees include products, facilities and projects which represent superior accomplishments in the technical and creative fields. Nominated products and works must have been released from March 1, 2003 through February 28, 2004, and are selected by a panel of 150 members of the professional audio industry. Voter guides and ballots are distributed to the U.S. readers of MIX magazine, who will select the winners in August.

Proceeds of the TEC Awards are donated to various audio scholarships and hearing conservation programs, including H.E.A.R. (Hearing Education and Awareness for Rockers), and the House Ear Institute of Los Angeles for its Sound Partners Program.
