Retailers Vote Yamaha a Music Inc. "Supplier Excellence" Award

Music Inc magazine's nationwide survey of music products retailers resulted in an "Overall Excellence" award for Yamaha.
BUENA PARK, CA (July 9, 2004) — In the June, 2004 issue of the key industry publication Music Inc., Yamaha Corporation of America is honored for "Overall Excellence" as part of the magazine's second annual Supplier Excellence Awards.

The awards, determined by surveys of music product retailers around the country, are designed to find companies that are "doing an exceptional job serving their retail customers." Those relationships, in turn, help ensure the best buying and ownership experiences for the consumers who play the instruments.

In naming Yamaha for the "Overall Excellence" award, Music Inc.'s Michael Matray and Zach Phillips wrote, "The company's dedication to innovation in every product segment, marketing support strategy and attention to dealers received high marks." Retailers quoted in the magazine singled out the Disklavier reproducing piano for praise, and said the quality of Yamaha's representatives was an important factor as well.

"It's especially gratifying to receive this award based upon votes from retailers," Terry Lewis, senior vice president, Music Marketing Group, Yamaha Corporation of America was quoted as saying in response to the honor. "Quality and innovation are hallmarks of Yamaha, and it's wonderful to have those things recognized by the people best able to judge the success of our products in the marketplace."
