Tuba Soloist Wins Top Prize on Yamaha 822 F Tuba

BUDAPEST, HUNGARY (July 25, 2004) — Tuba soloist Receives Prestigious Honor at the Recent 2004 International Tuba and Euphonium Conference.

Carolyn Jantsch recently won 1st prize in the Solo Tuba competition of the International Tuba and Euphonium Congress held in Budapest, Hungary. This is one of the most prestigious low brass competitions in the world, and is a major triumph for the 19-year-old American.

In addition, Jantsch has been awarded top prizes in other competitions, such as 1st prize at the 2003 Markneukirchen Tuba Competition and other international events. She even won 1st prize in the women's division of the Tuba Throwing Competition at the 2002 ITEC held in Finland!

Despite playing the tuba, which has not been traditionally considered a solo instrument; Carolyn Mae Jantsch is becoming one of the world's major solo tuba artists. The instrument she has chosen for her performances is Yamaha's YFB-822.
