Yamaha Cares
The new Yamaha Cares website expands the reach of this employee-based charitable program, and makes it easier for people and organizations around the country to make contact.
"Yamaha Cares is all about public outreach, so it makes sense for it to have a clear, easy-to-find presence on the web," says Carol Baker, Yamaha Corporation of America Vice President of Human Resources, who oversees the program. "As our efforts grow, we expect this site to be an important part of what we do."

Organized by Baker and Christina Holthe, Yamaha Human Resources Representative, Yamaha Cares uses charitable donations, product donations and hands-on help to promote education, arts, health and human services and community development in the areas where Yamaha employees live and work, and to spread the gift of music to people throughout America.

Recent Yamaha Cares initiatives have included providing a Disklavier grand piano to a young woman in Cobden, IL in cooperation with the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Metro St. Louis; sponsorship of Alissa's Angels, a mini-golf event to benefit the Children's Hospital of Orange County (CA); and corporate sponsorship of the Special Olympics Southern California Games. Yamaha Cares has also granted scholarships to young musical artists at several schools including The Juilliard School of Music, Cal State Long Beach, Cal State Fullerton, Cerritos College and the Cerritos Performing Arts Center.
