Rainbow Guitars and Yamaha Present Frank Gambale, November 15

Jazz enthusiasts and guitar players from across the region are invited to Tucson's premier music retailer on November 15, as Rainbow Guitars and Yamaha present an evening with electric jazz guitar virtuoso Frank Gambale (www.frankgambale.com). The event will include demos, performances, an autograph session and giveaways.

Best-known for his fiery work with Chick Corea's "Elektric" Band, Gambale began playing at age seven in his native Australia before coming to the U.S. to study at Hollywood's Guitar Institute of Technology, where he authored instructional books and was on the faculty from 1983-1986. His touring exposure-first with Jean-Luc Ponty, then Corea-put Gambale on the musical map as an innovator, blending traditional jazz with modern electric funk and fusion. He has also performed with Steve Smith's Vital Information for 13 years, and has toured solo. Gambale recently reunited with Elektric band mates Corea, Dave Weckl, John Patitucci and Eric Marienthal, and continues to work as a performer and music educator.
