The Music & Sound Awards recognize excellence among both manufacturers and dealers in the music products industry. Winners are chosen by polling manufacturers and retailers manufacturers vote on awards for dealers, while dealers vote on awards for products that are available, or have been released, in the prior year. In addition to product categories, the awards also recognize individual companies and sales representatives.

The upgraded, built-in Yamaha Education Suite 4 teaching system includes exercises, interactive lessons, a grading system and 100 songs on which to practice and learn. Also included is the intuitive Easy Song Arranger, the Performance Assistant feature and more.
The Yamaha SPX2000 continues a tradition of excellence in signal processing technology, inheriting the interface and common programs from its predecessors, and bringing a new dimension to sound quality with 96kHz audio and the advanced REV-X reverb algorithm. New parameters produce higher definition and finer nuances, while a number of presets include refinements to popular trademark SPX programs. The CLASSIC bank includes 25 programs reminiscent of the original SPX90 presets, while the USER bank can store up to 99 user programs.

"These are the industry's only awards based on results determined by the retailers," states John Beresford, editor, The Music & Sound Retailer magazine. "For this reason, the existence of the award, as well as its longevity, is important to the music products industry."
