Capitol Quartet DIGs Yamaha Saxophones
The Capitol Quartet known for its innovative repertoire, virtuosic playing, energetic and engaging stage presence, as well as for their commitment to music education has just released its latest cd entitled "DIG". The album (produced by Jeff Tyzik) features compositions and arrangements spanning the spectrum of jazz and classical styles. The compositions included on the album are some of the most treasured standards in the western music repertoire. Compositions such as Dizzy Gillespie's Manteca, Beethoven's Fur Elise, and the Minute Waltz by Fats Waller are just some of the pieces recorded by the ensemble. The original composition, DIG: JSB-1 by Charles Ruggiero, represents the ensembles continued commitment to increase and enrich the limited repertoire for the saxophone quartet.
"The clarity of sound, color, dynamic contrast, power and flexibility
throughout the entire range of each of the horns-soprano, alto, tenor &
baritone is remarkable.
The superior intonation makes it easy to blend together as a quartet while allowing for individuality and projection as solo artists performing in a wide variety of situations from studios, jazz sets, big bands, orchestras, chamber music or concerto soloists with concert bands or orchestras.
Our search for the ultimate vintage horn has ended; the Yamaha line of professional saxophones has bridged the gap between the past and present.
That's why we won't settle for anything less."
